Infection is treatable, but not harmless

The official site identifies pills and gene therapy as ways to treat infection. That makes an infection a team decision: identify it, communicate it, and decide whether the available treatment is worth using now.

Do not hide the warning

A silent infected teammate can turn a manageable supply problem into a threat inside the squad. Use proximity voice chat to tell the group what happened and what treatment is available.

Permadeath changes the risk calculation

The official site describes permadeath and notes that death loses progress. A risky push is not only a health check for the current fight; it can also erase the character's accumulated starting gear and perks.

A safer decision order

  1. Confirm who is infected and what the squad has available.
  2. Use treatment when the team can support the decision.
  3. Reduce exposure while the infected character remains in the run.
  4. Retreat when the objective costs more than the character can safely risk.
